Back to Vacations | Trip SynopsisBryan, Xan, Lindsay and I left to go to Mammoth on a Thursday night. We camped atthe Upper Twin Lakes Campground (Note: The Upper Twin Lake Campsites are actuallyvery nice. They seem more private and bigger than the ones found in the LowerTwin Lakes). The first day that we were there, we went down to Devils Postpile and Reds Meadows. To save some money and enjoy nature, we hiked down from the Minert View Point toStarkweather Lake. The hike was beatiful. From there, we captured a bus down tothe Devil's Postpile hiking trail. We made it to Devils Postpile, and admired thebeauty. After hiking to the top of the Postpile, we went into Reds Meadow and hada late lunch at the little resturant at the bottom. That night, Lindsay & I went fishing. We caught and cleaned two beatiful BrookTrout. As we were waiting for the BBQ to warm up to cook them, we were notifiedby our neighbors that there was a bear in our campsite! We weren't able to get anypictures of it, however! It wasn't very big, but it was bigger than a cub. It seemedmore confused than anything. The next day, we went to the Mountain Bike Park and rode the lifts down. It wasLindsay's first time on a bike in several years, and she was understandably a bithesitant and intimidated at first. As she became more comfortable with her bike, she soon was tearing down the mountain! After a fun day of mountain biking,Lindsay and I spent an hour or so climbing the rock wall outside of the MountainBike Park. That night we went to bed early and left the next morning. Pictures |
